The Music in Me (A Melody in the Making)

Lyrics swirling round and round
the giant mango sun,
Sweet and succulent.

I reach up to catch a chorus
But the clouds waltz by,
soft and airy,
whisking away
even the very breath of an aching ballad.

Leaves shiver,
Faint trills between the blowing breeze.
A stream glides among the reeds,
-a gentle flute
amidst metronome mountains.

Peaks and valleys sing of their sorrows,
Drum rolling hills, heavy.
Bottomless base bellowing,
and the bemoaning of a cello
echoing, off in the distance.

But with the cadence of the wind I spin,
As sea-shell whispers
and ocean vibrato serenade me- toes to spine,
And suddenly, I become the melody in my mind.

Dancing, prancing,
I skip staccato from one ivory stone to the next,
And then a wave of keyboard steps
sweeps me deep into a symphony,
-I breathe in - what pure harmony.

Now there's a song in everyone I meet,
Whether a stranger, a neighbour
or the sand at my feet.
This world of music- in my soul it does seep
So perfectly tuned to my heartbeat. ©
